If you love hippies but prefer they be financially independent, then Grayton Beach is the place for you!
Although Grayton Beach does feature a few modern beach homes, walking down one of it’s roads will gives you the feeling that this eclectic community has been preserved in time. You’ll find older style cottages, picket fences, old oaks, awesome dining, some unique shopping and of course, a few hippies.
Grayton Beach is also home to Grayton Beach State Park which stretches along the Gulf of Mexico and the majority of Western Lake. Want to be one with nature like your hippy brethren and sistren? The park’s hiking trails are some of the most scenic in the area, and if you’re lucky, you may see some wild hippies along the trail. But, remember to not feed the wildlife or they’ll follow you home. Grayton Beach’s unofficial slogan: “nice dogs strange people”.
